We were asked to write about how we were called to this mission trip. Here is my story....
For awhile I had been feeling like I was suppose to do something more. More than just "the norm," something important. Not knowing what in the world God wanted me to do, I prayed. Then on a Wednesday night I was sitting in service and a thought came to mind "youth missions trip." Just thinking it was another one of my crazy ideas I thought well if I remember when I get home I'll look it up. Shockingly, I remembered. When I found Adventures In Missions it touched my heart. Novas was actually one of the first ones I looked at but when reading about it I was like "There is no way I can put my life on hold for seven months. I have so many plans and everything is coming together just like I want it to." Little did I know that God had bigger plans for me. I looked at so many other trips and found a trip to Africa. I just knew that this was were I was suppose to go. So I started filling out my application and was almost done all I needed was for my references to be turned in. Then something happened and I found myself back at The Novas Project page. I'm still not sure how I got there but I know that God was showing me his way. This time I really read it. I found myself getting very confused because now I really wanted to be apart of this wonder journey. As I read about all the places this program goes to I saw Africa on the list and my heart just dropped. Although, this time those selfish thought didn't really matter anymore and I realized its not all about me. Needless to say I applied for The Novas Project and got accepted!
